The frost graced a few farms last night and it reminded me how quickly the greens and soft, plump harvest of summer comes to an end only to make way for fall's heartier stems and root vegetables.
I love that being a farmer means rolling with the seasons. I love that what I grow and eat shifts with the weather. I love this time of year when I can still pluck sweet cherry tomatoes from the vine and combine it with hearty kale in a salad.
