We’ve talked about ground beef & cabbage before (stir-fried with onion, grated carrots & a whole head of cabbage with tamari, garlic & raisins), but here's a twist with a super versatile sauce. We make this recipe one night with pasta or rice & then use the leftovers in rice paper rolls with a peanut butter sauce. Extra nice with fresh cilantro added!
THE BEST STIR FRY SAUCE
⅓ C water
⅓ C tamari
¼ C maple syrup
¼ C toasted sesame oil
1 clove garlic, finely minced
1 ½ t finely grated ginger
1 ½ t arrowroot
1 t sesame seeds, toasted
-
Add all ingredients to a jar and shake well! If making ahead and are refrigerating, add the arrowroot starch just before cooking.
Pour mixture into your stir fry about 3 minutes before it is finished and cook for a further 5 min, or until sauce coats the back of a spoon.
Farm fresh tip: Try using it as a marinade for tofu instead of meat - also super delicious!
